The subsidy was introduced in the 2023-24 budget under the Rajasthan Seed Production Mission.
Napier Grass offers numerous advantages for farmers and livestock owners. It can be cultivated in any season, with the ideal planting periods being July to October or February to March. Unlike many crops, Napier Grass does not require seeds; instead, it is propagated through stalks, with a recommended density of 4,000 stalks per bigha. This grass significantly enhances milk yield and improves overall animal health, making it a valuable feed option. Additionally, farmers can generate extra income by selling surplus stalks to other farmers, further increasing the economic benefits of cultivating Napier Grass.
